The James Runs Through
A 22-minute documentary following three families whose livelihoods rise and fall with the James River.
Full film available on requestWe spent eleven months on the water — pre-dawn calls with fishing guides, spring floods, and a harvest that nearly didn't happen. The film premiered to a sold-out theater and now anchors the Association's statewide education program.
Shot on a two-person crew to keep the rooms small and the conversations honest, with aerials used sparingly to reset scale between chapters.
